Abstract
I currently hold an internship through RxBenefits as a Learning and Development intern within their Human Resources department. I obtained this role through an online interview process with members of the team before securing my role. RxBenefits is a pharmacy benefits optimizer - the only company of its kind. RxBenefits works to provide clients with the best deal for their pharmacy benefit plan through unique plan offerings, brokerage deals, and clinical expertise. In my role at RxBenefits, I worked to create new virtual training content, career development resources, and aid in the new-hire onboarding and orientation process. I was able to use Articulate platforms such as Storyline and Rise to create new interactive training modules for our clinical product offerings. I also spearheaded a project where I utilized the Confluence platform to create an interactive career pathing tool for current employees, among other responsibilities. In this internship, I was able to gain invaluable instructional design experience, learn more about adult learning theory and how it is used in the workplace, and acquire immense knowledge about the pharmaceutical industry and corporate world. I was able to work closely with my team and mentors and learn from their welfare of knowledge about the importance of learning and development, and the best practices in the industry. In this role, my previous knowledge of I-O psychology was immensely helpful in understanding learning theories in training, organizational structure, and in recognizing where learning opportunities were needed.
